In 1917, the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared six times to three young shepherd children — Lúcia, Francisco, and Jacinta — near the town of Fátima in central Portugal. Our Lady called the world to prayer, penance, and devotion to her Immaculate Heart.
The apparitions culminated in the Miracle of the Sun on October 13, 1917, witnessed by an estimated 70,000 people. This extraordinary event confirmed the authenticity of the children's testimony and the urgency of Our Lady's message.
