The new Basilica, built in the 20th Century, is the 4th biggest in the world. Time for mass is usually not available on half-day tours, as time spent around Fatima is approx 1h30m on half-day tours. Itinerary
The Half-Day Private Tour of Fatima Sanctuary will provide you a highlight visit to the main Sanctuary of Fatima for the morning or afternoon period. This tour has duration approx of 4h, but please note the drive to Fatima from Lisbon takes around 1h20m each way, allowing to spend approx 1h30 at the Sanctuary. If wish to spend more time, please book instead the full-day option. Although the itinerary can be adjusted during the day, this is the suggested itinerary:
- From 8AM to 2PM – Pick-up optional at your hotel in Lisbon, Airport, or at your cruise ship terminal while docking in Lisbon (flexible start time for cruise ship passengers)
- Travel with A/C vehicle driving towards Fatima from Lisbon, about 80 miles north from Lisbon (1h20 drive)
- Free time to visit the Fatima Sanctuary (30m) – Mass usually only available for Full-Day Tours
- Visit to the Chapel of the Apparitions, where Our Lady appeared to the children in 1917.
- Visit inside the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary, where the tombs of the two Saints of Fatima, the youngest in the world are buried, canonized in May 2017 by Pope Francis when visited the Sanctuary this year.
- Explore the Most Holy Trinity Basilica, built in 2007 as the 4th biggest Catholic church in the world-
- Return to Lisbon (1h20 drive) for optional drop-off at desired location around 1PM or 6PM (hotel, airport or cruise ship)
